Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born August 19 1965, is an American actress. She also works as a producer and director. She is best known for her character as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick won two Emmy Awards in 2010 as well as 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. In the final season of the show Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The series ended August 13th, 2012. Sedgwick is also famous for her recurring character in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) The Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian as well as of English descent. Sedgwick has identified herself as Jewish and has said she participates in Passover seders.
